Learn To Love was the fifth and final singe and video released from my current album of the same name. The song was released and the video premiered on Mon 31 July.
If I had to pick one song from the album. It would be this one. This is one of my rare vocal performances that I listen to as a listener rather than as the songwriter. I listen to it and I feel that I really believe the singer. I feel what they are saying. That’s always my simple aspiration as a singer: to deliver a song honestly and authentically and as I listener, pretty much all I care about from a singer is “Do I believe them?”. Do I believe what they re singing? Or rather do I believe that they mean it. This is of course subjective, I’ll never know for sure. But what I seek, as a listener, is to be moved by the song. If I were ever to compile a best of then this would have to be on the list along with songs like “Keys to Inner Peace”, “Love”, “Live Before We Die” and “Love is the Answer.”
This video wasn’t my first concept. And in fact it wasn’t the second concept either. More on that another time. But what happened in the end, true to my style is that one day I just decided to film a simple video myself. So what you see in this video is the first time that I have filmed all the footage as well as editing and directing the video. There’s a few shots including the train going past behind me that I’m pleased with – and it encourages me for future projects.
